Walk and Talk Therapy

Traditional therapy doesn’t involve much movement. Although the therapist may give you homework to do, which could involve getting some exercise, you don’t always get a chance to move your body in the office. During Walk and Talk therapy, exercise is incorporated into the session. Instead of sitting face-to-face with your therapist, which can be stressful and make you feel as though you’re on the spot, you walk with your therapist and discuss your issues as you go. Spending time outdoors can reduce levels of cortisol, which is a stress hormone. Studies show that being in nature can also relieve hypertension, depression, anxiety, and attention disorders.

We can assist you regardless of where you are in Maryland, the District of Columbia, or Virginia.

Psychological Evaluations

Our team approach to psychological testing includes professionals who initially assess your concerns in a virtual intake. We then determine the individualized battery of tests that will help uncover your unique challenges and strengths. Each assessment is tailored to the individual and is given a full psychological interview, which includes psychosocial history, medication and drug history, developmental history, and educational and vocational history. All assessment results are thoroughly explored through indirect feedback sessions with clients, their families, and referring clinicians.

Types of Evaluations

Psychotherapy for Student-Athletes

We provide mental health therapy and life coaching to student-athletes from various athletic disciplines. We believe in the importance of understanding the connection between a positive mindset and mental health when nurturing ‎athletes to their potential.

Athletes struggle with anxiety and depression just like anyone else. They deal with trauma and grief, whether caused by sport, injury, or loved ones. Being an athlete in a romantic or familial relationship can also be highly stressful. Despite all these stressors, athletes are expected to be present during competition, workouts, and practice.

We also work to help student-athletes address the grief associated with facing the end of their athletic careers and improve their general well-being. Our goal is to assist them in making the most of their life when their athletic careers have ended and provide coaches and families with a greater understanding of what athletes are experiencing and how to navigate through the challenges.

Life Coaching

We provide our clients with an outstanding opportunity to focus and move forward in their personal, or professional goals. Our life coaches are highly trained to assist people in realizing their full potential and achieving success in all aspects of their lives. Life coaching differs from counseling and mentoring in that it focuses on solutions rather than problems.

Life coaching, often known as personal coaching or simply "coaching," is a one-on-one, collaborative process in which you (the client) work with a skilled professional (the coach) to achieve your specific life goals. These goals could be anything from improving self-confidence, weight loss, a career shift, to increasing motivation. Coaching is provided to people of diverse ages, backgrounds, and occupations, but they all have one thing in common - a desire to achieve more in their personal or professional lives. Whatever your objectives, a professional coach will provide you with motivation, accountability, and support, ensuring that you stay focused and take action week after week.
